12 Stunning Canmore Rentals, Chalets, and Airbnbs

Comparing Canmore, the town next to Banff National Park, to the well-known Banff, the former is more unknown abroad. Canmore offers so much to do that we often consider it to be a better place to stay than Banff.

Along with many other activities, you can hike, cross-country ski, and mountain bike. You’ll need a place to stay in Canmore that is both comfortable and convenient in between these activities. For that reason, we wanted to compile this list of fantastic Airbnbs in Canmore. Along with a few stunning Canmore chalets, VRBO also has some adorable Canmore rentals!

Short-term rentals are subject to stringent zoning regulations in both Canmore and Banff. In other words, Canmore doesn’t have as many options as other towns may have. The majority of Canmore Airbnbs are located in the same area and have a very similar appearance due to zoning. But, since reviews, interiors, and hosts vary, you can choose the ideal Canmore bed and breakfast for you if you carefully examine them all!

But first, why should you book a Canmore Airbnb room?

Distinctive Stays: Allow me to clarify. Although I adore Canmore hotels, you can find more unusual homes by booking through Airbnb. We try our best to present you with the finest lofts, townhomes, cottages, and cabins. Not just regular hotel rooms to make your visit even more memorable.

Stay Local: You support local companies when you book with a local host. Not only is this fantastic for them, but it also provides you with information about the top activities, restaurants, and other attractions. A local has the most knowledge of all.

Affordably priced: Airbnbs are available everywhere in various neighborhoods and have a range of prices.

Flexibility: I adore Airbnbs because they allow you to select accommodations that can accommodate not just two people but also four, six, and so on. This makes them ideal for families and even more affordable. Groups are better off staying together in entire apartments rather than in separate hotel rooms, in our opinion.

Privacy: If you prefer, the majority of Airbnbs now allow you to check in and out without speaking to anyone. This is made possible by door codes, lockboxes, and keypads.

The Canmore Cabin

Only ten minutes’ walk from the main street is this Canmore cabin, which is available for rent on Airbnb. It’s a great place to stay and one of the only cabins in Canmore that you can find on Airbnb. With room for up to six people, it’s the perfect spot for gatherings with friends and family. I would strongly advise making a reservation for this Canmore cabin around Christmas, when the entire region is covered in snow.

This Canmore cabin has a large natural rock fireplace that uses Enirologs, a comfortable oversized sofa, amenities for working from home, and a hot tub. It’s one of the best Airbnbs in Canmore to call home, and it’s tastefully decorated.

This stunning Canmore Airbnb with two bedrooms can accommodate up to five visitors. Because it is located inside the Stoneridge complex, it offers a ton of amenities.

For individuals who prefer to be in the heart of the action downtown, this fantastic Canmore Airbnb is situated in Silver Creek Lodges. You can pretty much walk everywhere from this Airbnb. This opulent Airbnb has two queen-sized beds as well as a pull-out couch in the living area. With its ample supplies, the kitchen lets you prepare any meal you like. There are two TVs to unwind in front of after spending the day at EEOR or Ha Ling Peak.

Lofted Penthouse

This is a conveniently located Canmore Airbnb right next to the grocery stores, Canadian Tire, Starbucks, and just a quick hop across the street to Mainstreet where the best shops and restaurants are.

I love this top floor unit because it has open huge windows that look out towards the Three Sisters and Mount Lawrence Grassi.

This is an even better location with heated, safe parking. Once more, this might not seem like a big deal, but it’s really helpful in the winter months in Alberta and great in the summer when town space becomes scarce.

This is one of the best Airbnbs in Canmore with a pool—a very opulent townhouse! One of the best neighborhoods in the area is Mystic Springs, which has a heated pool! After a day of skiing in Banff with your loved ones, you can unwind in a 12-person hot tub.

I adore the patio that faces the pool, where you can watch the kids swim while sipping a drink on the deck. Some of the greatest restaurants in Canmore are literally a few feet away. Furthermore, your stay includes a complimentary Parks Canada pass that allows you to enter Banff!

There’s a nice separation between the living room on the main story and the bedrooms on the second story. A cozy king-size bed awaits you in the master bedroom on Saturday morning.

Entire Townhouse in Harvey Heights

I would recommend booking an Airbnb in Harvey Heights for a better deal. Harvey Heights is a small community that is only five minutes from Canmore. Compared to most Airbnbs in Canmore, Harvey Heights offers much better value, some nicer places, and the ability to house more people.

The only thing that has changed, compared to the other Airbnbs on this list, is that you no longer have to walk to Downtown Canmore to enjoy the breathtaking views in Harvey Heights. Therefore, in order to access Main Street and all of the eateries, pubs, and boutique stores that it offers, you’ll need a car or a bike.

This townhouse has two bedrooms and can accommodate eight people plus pets. It features brand-new furniture and a gas fireplace. Free parking, a coin-operated laundry room, barbecue facilities, and a public hot tub are also available.

The Top Activities in Canmore

Hike Rundle’s East End

The hike known as East End of Rundle (EEOR) is among the most well-liked in Canmore. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views over Canmore, the Bow Valley, and Ha Ling Peak from this lovely hike up. Nevertheless, just because East End of Rundle—also known as EEOR or “Eeyore” as the locals like to call it—is near to the town doesn’t mean that climbing to the summit will be simple.

The 5.8-kilometer EEOR trail is an out-and-back route. For nearly the whole hike, it’s an arduous uphill battle. There are very few flat sections, and the ascent begins directly from the parking lot. For the average to experienced hiker, there is some scrambling and moderate exposure, but nothing too scary or challenging.

Visit Grizzly Paw Brewing Pub and have a beer.

One of our favorite après-ski traditions is visiting the local brewery, which is unique to North America. Any day spent in the breathtaking Rockies with a local beer at the end of the day is ideal, regardless of the season.

We really enjoyed their Rundlestone IPA and Grumpy Bear Honey Wheat, along with their delicious food. Seasonal draughts, including gose, wheat, speciality IPA, and other guest brews, are also available.

Eclipse Coffee’s morning coffee

The Eclipse Coffee Roasters in Canmore are the place to go if you want the best coffee in the Banff area. They currently operate two locations: the original at the main intersection off Bow Valley Trail, and the other downtown.

Within the store, you can purchase a variety of specialty coffees or discover house-made artisan roasts. You can anticipate the stand4ard selection, which includes flat whites, lattes, and even excellent pour overs for true coffee connoisseurs. We like to choose our coffee roast for home from this location, which is our favorite.

In addition, it’s a great place to stop for coffee or a local roast for camping before heading out on a hike in Kananaskis along the Smith Dorrien Trail or towards Banff.

Take a Mountain Bike Outing

There are numerous mountain biking trails suitable for all skill levels that open up as the snow melts. That could be screaming down a ridgeline on a hair-raising ride, or it could mean taking a leisurely, scenic bike ride through a field. In the summer, the Canmore Nordic Center becomes a network of mountain bike trails suitable for riders of all skill levels.

The popularity of mountain biking has spread throughout North America, and there are more opportunities and trails with each passing season. Visit the website of the tourism board or stop by a nearby store for the most up-to-date details on trails in the area.

Climb Ha Ling Peak

Ascend to the summit of Ha Ling Peak, Canmore’s most famous mountain. It’s also the most accessible mountain in the area thanks to a newly redesigned trail that has viewpoints, steps, educational signage, and a well-defined path.

HaLing’s drawback is its popularity; on a pleasant summer weekend, thousands of people pack the parking lot and trail and ascend the short trail to the summit. Even so, the hike is fairly challenging because you gain over 800 meters in less than 4 kilometers.
