Even though staying in such a popular part of the Rockies during the summer will cost more, it’s all worthwhile to wake up to views of the magnificent Kananaskis peaks.

Mount Engadine Lodge
Easily one of the best cabins in Alberta, Mount Engadine is the best cabin rental in Kananaskis. Situated approximately one hour away from Canmore on the Smith Dorrian Road/Spray Lakes Road is Mount Engadine Lodge. Mountains, valleys, trees, and a few moose in the wilderness are the only features in the area.
There are no TVs, WiFi, or cell service available. This place is back to nature, which is exactly what you might be hoping for from a trip to the Canadian Rockies. It’s literally the epitome of cabin camping.
It’s similar to camping, but when you make a reservation here, you also get a cozy king-size bed, a fireplace, and a great restaurant that serves only locally produced food. Let’s refer to this as glamping.
In addition to standard hotel rooms and yurts, Mount Engadine offers a variety of lodging options, including cabins! Breakfast, a sack lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner are all included with reservations. Just a 5-minute drive from the trailhead to Smutwood Peak and Tent Ridge, Mount Engadine offers breathtaking views of Commonwealth Peak.
Sundance Lodges
This fantastic lodging choice is situated close to the Wasootch Ridge Trailhead and the Nakiska Ski Resort in Kananaskis. Sundance Lodges provides lodging in the form of trappers tents and canvas tipis.
Because every site is unserviced, it’s a great option for people who want to have a more adventurous camping experience. Situated along a peaceful, wooded road, the Kananaskis campground is ideal for stargazing at night or for setting up camp alongside some of the best hikes in the area.
Nonetheless, since there are flush toilets and hot showers, you aren’t strictly camping here. In the morning, the staff even serves hot coffee!
One of the most distinctive lodging options in the Rockies is Sundance Lodge, but since they only have a small number of sites, you should make reservations in advance during the summer (they are closed during the winter).
Remember that people seeking a comfortable adventure are the target audience for Sundance Lodges. Since these are canvas tents and the Rockies are chilly at night, guests must bring their own bedding (though beds are provided).
Kananaskis Mountain Lodge
This Kananaskis cabin rental is more of a mountain resort getaway than a true “cabin,” but keep in mind that there aren’t many real cabins “in Kananaskis.”
Nevertheless, if you’d like to stay in the area, Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is a great choice. Situated next to Nakiska Ski Resort, it’s one of the nicest hotels in the whole Rockies.
As soon as you enter Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, you will feel like you are in a luxurious mountain lodge. They deserve praise for consistently providing family-friendly events, particularly during the holidays.

William Watson Lodge
Constructed in 1981, the William Watson Lodge commands a view of Lower Kananaskis Lodge, one of Alberta’s most exquisite lakes.
Here are 22 Kananaskis cabins, 11 RV campsites, and a day-use lodge. Particularly for seniors and people with disabilities in Alberta, William Watson Lodge is an excellent place to stay. Albertans with severe disabilities are given priority. Calling up to four months ahead of time allows guests to make reservations.

Folk Tree Lodge

A winter ice rink, warm robes, delectable food, and a fireplace. Additionally, they can be found near Lake Louise Ski Resort and Morant’s Curve on the Bow Valley Parkway.
Storm Mountain Lodge
Storm Mountain Cabins are off Highway 93, close to Vista Lake and Boom Lake. They make an excellent base for exploring the park and are among the best places to stay in Banff.
Castle Mountain Chalets
Situated close to Castle Mountain at Castle Junction on the Bow Valley Parkway are these cabins. There are plenty of cabins that are ideal for family vacations. They are more conveniently situated near Lake Louise than they are near Kananaskis. Nevertheless, they are an excellent choice for a Banff cabin!
